Clean-Up Progress - Weeks 1 and 2

Here are the things I've been able to mark off my list so far:

Work
  • Straighten and organize. I don't have much shelving in my cubicle, but I'll re-organize into piles (I usually do this throughout the year but it's kind of messy right now because I have several stacks of papers that are waiting for further action). COMPLETE
  • Go through and organize work email by deleting, moving into appropriate folders, etc. Keep this cleaned up throughout the year. COMPLETE

 Dining/Kitchen Area
  • Trash all the newspapers we've been saving for recycling. Doesn't look like we're going to get to take them to the recycling center anytime soon (it's a large pile) so I'm just going to chunk them, I guess. I hate that.  COMPLETE *we ended up burning these after fireworks on New Year's Eve in the burning barrel out behind our house.

Master Bedroom
  • I got rid of the chenille blanket on the bed that generates so much fuzzy dust.

Nursery

  • Box up too-small clothes and put in storage shed.  ALMOST COMPLETE *I've gotten this done for the most part. Most of the too-small clothes are boxes up but I haven't taken them out to the shed yet. And there are still a few outfits that I haven't boxed up yet because I don't have a box.
  • Although I can't say I've completed doing a better job of keeping the baby laundry put away, I will say that I put all of his away today and his floor is cleaned up. So, that's progress. This will be an ongoing thing.

Time Management
  • Get a new watch. *got one for Christmas.

I want to add something and I'm not sure which category it should go under. I want to send more snail mail to those I care about. I love coming home to having more than just bills in my mailbox. In fact, I received a sweet little note from an internet friend of mine with a compilation CD she had made the day we buried Grandma and it really made my day. I want to do that for other people.

I also need to go through the cleaning month schedule along with the Cleaning Grand Plan Challenge schedule and write out my own cleaning schedule for the next few months. I won't be able to follow cleaning month closely since I already missed a week and I figure this is going to take more than a month, so I need to make up my own schedule by combining these two.

And with all that snow yesterday and today, I could have really used those new floormats I was talking about buying...

It's such an ongoing project, especially as the kids get older and can make a mess in no time but aren't as capable of cleaning it up. It sounds like you have been making a ton of progress!

I, too, love the more-snail-mail idea :)
